Thus the sunshine, the warm, bright, explosion of happiness and sunshine I feel in her apartment, and the memories and moments of so much simple joy and wonderful completeness looking at posterboards and pictures plastering her walls from her year in America. I really can't describe how happy I am to be here, how wonderful it is to catch up with her and laugh about memories and create new ones, this time in her land.
Anyway, we woke up this morning, finished packing, said goodbye to Justine and Riordan, gave them their fudge, and headed to church. Church was AWESOME! We went to the Hillsong church Lyndsy had gone to all last summer. We only got to stay for the worship and some of the beginning annoucements/"encourage your neighbor!"/"learn about our church!" stuff, but of course the worship was awesome, and the atmosphere was so friendly, people helped us put our backpacks away and find places to sit and stuff. Then we had to sneak out of there to make it to Centraal Station for our train out of Amsterdam!!
Woo!! Thanks for being awesome Amsterdam!! Time to move on!! We arrived in Hannover this afternoon and tried to go see some beautiful gardens, except it's like winter or something so they're closed. So we ate pie and drank coffee instead. Her mom is awesome. I'm so excited to spend more time with her tomorrow :-) then we hung out at Tessa's mom's house until dinner (yep, dessert before dinner!!), which was a fabulous Greek place. The menu was Greek food written in German...which translates to a whole lot of not-sense for Bridget and I. Tessa and her mom basically decided what we were going to eat. Whatever they chose, it was delicious :) we spent the last few hours in a state of too-much-food coma in Tessa's incredible apartment (see above, I'm in love with all the pictures of her memories in America on the walls. Plus the apartment is just super cute in general). Bridget had to be all important and stuff and do a lot of ROTC, Tessa had to study for an exam tomorrow, which left me to...do nothing! And talk to God, which is always a great option! And look at the pictures on her walls over and over and over. <3 :)
