I have eaten so much since arriving in Germany. It is wonderful. Probably very fattening, but whatever. Like I care :). We got to spend the whole day yesterday with Tessa's mom, who took us to Hameln, which is a town about 45 mins away. Apparently this is the town where the story The Pied Piper took place. It's so picturesque, with pretty buildings and a river. We wandered around the streets, and ate German pancakes for lunch in a little restaurant. The restaurant was so tiny -- tables were in different rooms, the ceiling was low, and the whole house sort of sloped downward towards the back. Talking with Tessa's mom is fun, because she doesn't speak English very well. So we all get to do a lot of figuring out what the other person means :)
When Tessa got out of her school later in the evening, we all went out to dinner at a place that serves traditional German food. Sooo good. The restaurant had all kinds of strange stuff, like dried alligators on the ceiling. I'm pretty sure those aren't native to Germany, but the looked cool! After dinner, we headed back to Tessa's apartment, and Kirstyn, Tessa, and I watched most of the Fellowship of the Ring :)
We're getting Kirstyn to be cultured :)
